A Quran memorization test that listens to you recite
The real test of Hifz is tasmīʿ: you close the Mushaf and recite to someone who is following the page. When no teacher or partner is free, Gardens of the Quran plays that part.

How the test works
- A guided memorization session ends with the page hidden.
- You recite aloud from memory and the app follows along.
- It names the verses you stumbled on.
- Pass, and the page is marked memorized. Slip, and it drills those verses and tests you again.
What the Hifz tester hears
As you recite, each word is coloured: correct, mispronounced, skipped or hesitant. The checker applies the tajwīd rules of your riwāyah (idghām, iqlāb, ikhfāʾ, iẓhār) and knows how words join, so it follows what a reciter actually says and not only the letters on the page. It works in Ḥafṣ, Shuʿbah, Warsh, Qālūn and al-Dūrī.
While revising you can also record yourself, then reveal the page to see what it caught.
What it is not
It is a mirror for practice between sessions. It does not replace a teacher, and it does not issue an ijāzah. Speech recognition can mishear, so treat a flagged word as something to look at, not as a verdict.
Your voice stays with you
Your recitation is never uploaded to us. The listening is done by your phone's own speech recognition, which on supported devices can work offline once its Arabic language pack is installed. Details are in the privacy policy.
What the test finds feeds the revision tracker, in the Mushaf layout you chose, including the 15-line Mushaf.
